Ritchie - Cola

oh boy, another Coke clone.

taste profile: the smell is just as you would expect: Coke, though this one appears to be slightly more complex. i can’t put my finger on it - just like Pop Cola, this promises a little more than the usual Coke clone. the taste is indeed a pleasant surprise - it’s very similar to Pop Cola in fact, with its light, botanical flavour profile. the body of the taste is made up of the kola nut, i think, but this is beautifully complemented by the apple and lemon flavours. apple and lemon wouldn’t normally be a combo i would think of as enticing, but this one does really well. in other words, the body is really well put together - an excellent combination of apple, lemon, kola nut, and cane sugar. speaking of which, this drink is suitably sweet, just like the Real Coke™. the aftertaste is suitably sour, though it does leave an unusually sticky feeling. the only caveat with this is that as you get accustomed with some parts of the overall taste, the kola flavour appears to get stronger and stronger.

rating: 7/10. i like it, i really do, but it gets annoying quickly. it’s a little too sweet for my taste, hence the lower rating. but this is a subjective appreciation, people with a sweet tooth will likely get much more out of this one.
